Experiential Lam Rim
Venerable René Feusi
Vajrapani Institute

“Most of us try for a while to maintain a spiritual discipline of attending teachings, regular meditations and readings, but often due to pressure on our schedules and attraction to various entertainments in our free time, gradually our practice vanishes into thin air.

Then the less we practice, the less pleasure there is in it, as we don’t unite our mind with it. With the collapse of our practice, our awareness of the state of our mind decreases. We no longer apply antidotes to the mental afflictions. We justify our irritation. Our longing desire seems to bring happiness. These grow and their increase our dissatisfaction rises.

After a while, we realize the value of an ongoing spiritual discipline. It brings about a certain level of contentment and the feeling that we are in charge of our state of mind. We are not just like a dead leaf carried by the wind. Our patience, loving kindness and wisdom are nourished. With their development, our self-esteem is enhanced and we become less anxious about the future. We gain the inner confidence that somehow the forces of goodness are on our side.”

– Ven René

To help maintain our spiritual practice, Ven Renè from Jul 2005-Feb 2006 taught an Experiential Lam Rim Course. We met once a week for meditation, teaching and discussion. During the week, we meditated an hour a day, which included four sections of 15 minutes each, calm abiding, Lama Tsong Khapa yoga, reading and contemplating the chosen Lam Rim topic. You are now able to participate in these teachings through these audio files!

All audio mp3 encoded (32kbit mono). Files range from 19MB to 36MB.
